Learn More About the Medical Transportation Program

The Volunteer Medical Transportation program is available for persons who are unable to provide their own transportation to and from medical appointments in the Glenn County area.

You will need to complete a Transit Service Card application for the Volunteer Medical Transportation Program. There will be mileage fee charged for transportation to and from the medical facility.

Volunteer Drivers Needed

Glenn Transit Service is in need of Volunteer Drivers for the Volunteer Medical Transportation Program! Do you have a desire to serve your local community? Do you have a few hours to give back to folks that need transportation assistance? This may be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

The Volunteer Medical Transportation program provides transportation for qualified Glenn County residents who are unable to provide their own transportation to and from medical appointments in Chico, California, and certain surrounding areas. If you have a reliable vehicle, proof of current vehicle insurance, proof of a good driving record, no criminal offenses and you are a non-smoker you may qualify to be a Volunteer Driver.

Drivers are reimbursed at $1.00 per mile, a 32% higher rate than the current federal mileage reimbursement rate, and provided a daily bonus (dependent on trip destination).
